Office of Financial Strategy and Planning

Central Budget Office

The Central Budget Office is primarily responsible for developing, communicating, and managing the university’s annual financial planning processes, as well as consolidating and analyzing its financial results, plans, and projections. This includes overseeing and developing the university’s budget, forecast, multi-year financial plans, and management reporting to support and facilitate decision making. The Central Budget Office manages and maintains the university’s budget planning tool, Adaptive Planning.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team provides financial, planning and analysis shared services to approximately 40% of the university’s distributed units. Working closely with departmental leadership, they develop and implement strategies for budgeting, forecasting, multi-year planning, and financial modeling. Intrinsically linked with their central finance teammates, the FP&A team partners with their clients to help advance the university’s financial planning and management, considering both local and central perspectives.

Financial Operations

The Financial Operations team provides financial operations shared services to approximately 40% of the university’s distributed units. This includes but is not limited to, expense reports, supplier invoices, journal entries, and purchase orders. The team serves as a resource for all academic and administrative units on financial policies and processes.
